MWM VW CONFIRMS DRIVERS

ORANGE-based Midwest Multimedia Racing (MWM) has confirmed their driving squad for the 2019 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. James Keene will be joined by Matt Thewlis and Richard Luff, who clinched the Class D Championship of Australian Production Cars last year -driving the MWM Mini Cooper. “We are excited to have Matt and Richard on-board with them stepping into Golf after running the Mini throughout the last year where they took out the Class D championship of the Australian Production Cars, both of them were itching to jump into the Golf right throughout the last year and the opportunity opened for them to jump in for the 6 hour and the pairing jumped at the chance,” read a post on the team’s Facebook page. “Both Matt and Richard have plenty of previous Bathurst experience with them both having coached around the circuit, as well as having race starts in several endurance races at the circuit over the years including the Bathurst 6 hour and the Bathurst 2 hour Showroom Showdown.”The 2019 6-hour will represent the fourth race for James Keene, with the team finishing third in class (B1) on the debut of their VW Golf last year. The team also won their class in the Australian Production Car series. “I’m excited to be running with Richard and Matt,” James said. “I’m looking forward to seeing what the car will do with 12 months of development and setup work having now been completed.”
