Penalties handed out after Race 1 clashes
Australian touring car stalwarts Jason Bright and Garth Tander have been handed penalties after being involved in incidents in Race 1 at Phillip Island yesterday.
Bright, driving his Volkswagen Golf GTI, has been docked 20 series points after stewards found his move on the Subaru of Andre Heimgartner to be reckless.
The points penalty drops Bright from fourth to sixth in the title standings.
Audi star Garth Tander was also handed a penalty for a lap one collision with John Martin. Tander was given a 10 second penalty added to his race time, meaning that he is classified as 10th after crossing the line fifth.
