Chassis switch for Wall Racing Honda at The Bend
Wall Racing is undergoing a chassis switch for Round 3 of the carsales TCR Australia Series at The Bend next weekend.
The chassis changes comes after the arrival of two new Honda Civic Type-R cars, and the damage that was sustained to John Martin’s car at the last event at Phillip Island.
Tony D’Alberto, currently third in the TCR Australia Series, will get his hands on the brand-new car that the team has taken delivery of, while Martin will step into D’Alberto’s original racer.
The Wall Racing team has all-but completed the rebuild of Martin’s car, however, the team is waiting on a component to arrive from overseas, and a delay means that Martin will step into the chassis that D’Alberto put on pole position in the opening round in Sydney.
The team will also field a third car for TCR debutant Jordan Cox. He will drive one of the new cars that was recently secured by Wall Racing.

All three cars that will compete at The Bend will undergo a short shakedown at the Marulan circuit in New South Wales on their way to the new South Australian facility.
Team owner David Wall says that
“It has been a big job, but we elected to make it a big job to ensure that we did it properly,” said Wall.
“We could have got John to the event in his car, but the fix wouldn’t have been to our desire. We wanted to make sure it was perfect, so we elected to switch chassis.
“There’s no harm for John. Tony has proven that his car is competitive, so we feel that we’ll have three very fast cars for The Bend.
“It’s good that we have the ability to shake the cars down too. That will allow us the chance to iron out any bugs and hit the ground running.”
Track action starts on Friday, July 12, ahead of two days of qualifying and racing. CLICK HERE to secure your tickets to the event, or catch the racing live, free and in HD on SBS.
