Leanne Tander eyes full-time 2020 TCR ride

Leanne Tander is aiming to put together a deal to compete in the full 2020 car sales TCR Australia Series next year.

Regarded as Australia’s most successful female racer in recent times, Tander has driven one-off races in the new Audi RS 3 in the past two rounds, scoring a number of top 10 finishes.

While she may get more opportunities to compete in the #3 Audi, Tander is currently in talks with potential backers to secure a full-time drive in the class next year.

“I’ve been really fortunate to compete at Phillip Island and Tailem Bend, and I’d love to do a few more this year to build up my seat time,” said Tander.

“But my main focus is to try and get the budget together to have a full attack next year.

“I’ve always loved racing. It has always been my favourite part of the whole process – the wheel to wheel racing – and this category has so much of that. It is really enjoyable being out there on track.”
