Morris Finance supports maiden CUPRA effort for The Bend
Tim Brook will sport the colours of Morris Finance for the CUPRA’s maiden TCR Australia race event at The Bend Motorsport Park this weekend.
A long-time supporter of Australian Motorsport and the Victorian-based Garage1 team, Morris Finance will adorn the flanks of the #62 car, along with further backing from Gorilla Beverages.
After a successful test at Winton, team owner John Evans is looking forward to the team and car making their debut in the under two litre class in South Australia.
“We think the CUPRA looks fantastic,” said Evans.
“The car has come up great for our first run in the series.
“Garage1 has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Nathan Murray and his team at Morris Finance and we really value their support.
“It’s great that we have been able to get this single car program together in time for the last round of the TCR series. We’d like to run multiple cars in future as well, so this is a great way to have a soft launch into the category.
“The car performed faultlessly in the test at Winton last week and we are aiming for a competitive run at The Bend.”
The event marks Brook’s second race in the series following his debut at Round 5 at Winton with the Wall Racing Honda squad.
The final round of the carsales TCR Australia Series will kick off with two practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
The TCR Australia Series, as well as the all-new S5000 open wheel class can be seen live, free and in HD on SBS, as well as the live stream produced by the Shannons Nationals.
