Lee Holdsworth continues hot practice form at Symmons Plains

Lee Holdsworth has topped the second practice session at Symmons Plains Raceway, adding to his fastest time set in Practice 1 earlier this morning.

In his maiden official TCR sessions, Holdsworth has adapted quickly to the turbo-charged touring car, setting a time over two tenths faster than his Alfa Romeo team-mate Jay Hanson, who ended the session second.

The Alfas have proved to be the car of choice today, with Jordan Cox third and his GRM stablemate Michael Caruso in sixth after enduring a mid-session spin.

Debutant Brad Shiels, driving for privateer Hyundai team Tilton Racing, was fourth, just ahead of Audi star driver Chaz Mostert.

Caruso was followed by Luke King (Audi), Josh Buchan (Hyundai), Aaron Cameron (Peugeot) and Dylan O’Keeffe (Renault).

Qualifying for the opening race of the SUpercheap Auto TCR Australia Series will be run at 2:15pm AEDT tomorrow, followed by Race 1 at 5pm.
