TCR Europe at Monza to be streamed for Australian race fans
Three weeks after the last TCR Europe round at the Nurburgring, this weekend’s event at Monza will again be livestreamed through the TCR Australia Facebook page.
A season-high 28-entries will contest two races at the temple of speed as Mikel Azcona aims to continue his winning ways in the Volcano Motorsport Cupra Leon Competicion TCR after clean-sweeping the races at the Nurburgring.
Azcona is in the box seat to take the title as he holds a 37-point lead, with the two lowest scoring rounds dropped at season’s end. The Spaniard didn’t contest the Zandvoort round due to conflicting ETCR commitments and this counts as his drop scores.
Second in the points is Franco Girolami in the PSS Racing Team Honda Civic Type R TCR after scoring two second places at the Nurburgring.
Making it three different manufacturers in as many positions at the top of the table, Dutchman Niels Langeveld leads the Sebastien Loeb Racing Hyundai Elantra TCR challenge in third, while teammate Mehdi Bennani follows in fourth ahead of Comtoyou Racing’s Tom Coronel in the lead Audi RS 3 LMS TCR.
This round, Gustav Birch in the Brianmadsen Sport Peugeot 308 TCR, a BTC Maszyny Racing Audi RS 3 LMS TCR for Lukascz Stolarczyk and Azcona’s teammate Evgenii Leonov return to the grid, while five drivers will make their debut.
TCR Italy race winner Damiano Reduzzi will race a Trico WRT Hyundai i30 N TCR, Honrak Aditis Racing Team will enter a pair of Audis for Petr Cizek and Bartosz Groszek, leaving Sergio Lopez and Ruben Fernandez to represent RC2 Junior Team in a Cupra Leon Competicions.
The two races will streamed live through the TCR Australia Facebook page, with the opener occurring on Saturday at 11:05pm, then Sunday’s event begins at 11:30pm.
Don’t miss the action.
