Top five finishes the target for Jason Bargwanna
Garry Rogers Motorsport driver Jason Bargwanna is targeting consistent top five finishes when Supercheap Auto TCR Australia returns to action.
Bargwanna is just one of six drivers to take victory in Supercheap Auto TCR Australia this season and the first for a Peugeot locally, but luck has deserted the former Bathurst winner outside of his Phillip Island triumph.

Progress has been made throughout what is the Peugeot’s maiden full-season campaign and Bargwanna is determined to end his maiden Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series entry on a high.
“We’re fortunate to have the race win and I’d like to be more consistent in terms of running in that top five,” Bargwanna explained.
“We’ve shown glimpses of it.
“I’ve been doing this long enough to know the sun shines on some days, but not on others and I’ve really enjoyed what we’re doing as well as how it’s working for us.”
Whilst after results himself, Bargwanna emphasised the program’s role as a launchpad for son and teammate Ben.
“I still think there’s opportunities for us to establish some podium finishes and maybe get back to a race win, but this is all about developing a career opportunity for Ben, and maybe in a way of finishing mine off,” Bargwanna said.
“It’s exciting to do it together. We’re fortunate to have the support of a great sponsor with people who believe in the things we’re trying to achieve and riding the wave with us.”
Four manufacturers have won this season and Bargwanna hopes the pendulum will swing towards Peugeot like it did at Phillip Island.
“What I have seen is that some cars like different circuits and that’s fine, that’s what the category is,” Bargwanna summarised.
“We know there’s strengths and weaknesses in all the different brands, in the different body shapes, which I think is exciting.”
