TCR Europe finale to be broadcast live through TCR Australia Facebook

This weekend’s TCR Europe finale in Barcelona promises to be action packed as Mikel Azcona aims to seal his second European title following success in 2018 and will be available to view through the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Facebook page.

All Azcona needs to do is finish ahead of his nearest title rival, Honda’s Franco Girolami in Race 1 to be assured the title due to the two lowest scores for each driver being dropped. Azcona failed to attend Zandvoort so therefore this counts as his worst two scores, leaving his current points total unchanged.

Completing the ultimate double-duty this weekend, Azcona will contest all WTCR sessions in the Czech Republic on Friday before qualifying and contesting Race 1 in TCR Europe on Saturday. If he seals the title, Azcona will complete his WTCR commitments with Zengo Motorsport.

Audi driver Tom Coronel is 127-points behind Azcona and is out of the title fight, but holds a slight 13-point advantage from Sebastien Loeb Racing Hyundai Elantra N TCR driver Niels Langeveld.

Coronel will replicate Azcona’s double duty scenario between WTCR and TCR Europe.

An entry list of 24 will contest the final round, with Cupra’s numbers bolstered by the continuation of the RC2 Junior Team and the addition of a sole Lema Racing example for TCR Eastern Europe driver Giacomo Ghermandi. Azcona will also have a new Volcano Motorsport teammate as Klim Gavrilov transitions from a VRC-Team Audi.

Qualifying and both races will be streamed live through the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Facebook, with times accessed through the page.

Also, Fox Sports and Kayo will broadcast WTCR action from Most in the Czech Republic scheduled for Monday morning at 9am.
