GRM set to return to racetrack for Winton test

Garry Rogers Motorsport will return to the track as it undertakes a shakedown of its Supercheap Auto TCR Australia entries.

Victorian drivers of its Supercheap Auto TCR Australia program will also be at the test as the team’s three Peugeots, two Renaults and its pair of Alfa Romeos will be given a shakedown ahead of the season resumption.

“It’s been a pretty long mid-season break, so the aim for us is to give the cars a shakedown and also getting the crew back into gear before a busy end to the year when we fire back up again,” said Millard.

“We’ve got the Victorian guys heading up there, so we won’t have Michael Caruso or Jordan Cox due to being Sydney-based.”

Development work has continued on the team’s Renault Megane R.S. TCRs as GRM continues to work in cooperation with Vukovic Motorsport in enhancing the package, which was successful last time out at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“We’re always talking with Vukovic Motorsport over in Switzerland, which is the homologation agent for the Renault,” Millard explained. “We’re trying to obviously develop a better package for Vukovic, whether it be reliability or performance and we’ve been getting pretty close.

“We’ve been stopped in our tracks after Sydney where we had a good round as Dylan O’Keeffe took pole position and some good race results.

“We feel like we’re getting really close with the Renaults and hopefully we can get up with the frontrunners, which would be nice.”
