Tickets now available for Phillip Island Shannons Motorsport Australia Championship round

Tickets for the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships at Phillip Island are now available as an action packed line up of categories headlined by the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS and the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series.

It will be the first meeting back on the mainland for Supercheap Auto TCR Australia and the Turtle Wax Trans Am Series after battling it out at AWC Race Tasmania, while this announcement confirms the opening round for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS.

Tickets available here.

Last year’s round at the historic circuit was a scene of firsts as Jason Bargwanna took Peugeot’s first victory in Supercheap Auto TCR Australia and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS made its debut.

Again Hyundai, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Honda, Renault and Volkswagen will aim to topple Peugeot in the fight for the series.

A fresh set of young guns are ready to take on reigning Turtle Wax Trans Am Series winner Nathan Herne as he targets back-to-back titles, while the best of Audi, Mercedes, Nissan, Porsche and more will contest two one-hour races at one of Australia’s best venues in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS.

“Phillip Island is going to be a great way to start the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships season in March this year,” Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations Michael Smith said.

“After a couple of years of disruptions to our calendar, we are really determined to make 2022 one to remember with a focus on motorsport fans and their families, as they get to experience the wide range Shannons categories on offer.

“We’re excited to begin the Phillip Island event with a new street party concept, that will bring the cars and the drivers to the main street of Cowes on the Thursday evening. It’s a really great opportunity for both locals and those travelling to the Island for this event to get a close look at the cars they’ll see on track all weekend.

Friday is free, but attendees must register through the ticket link, while general admission tickets are available for $25 each day and a two-day weekend pass is priced at $40. Children 15 and under are free, but also will need to register to be eligible to enter the circuit.

Adding a carnival atmosphere to the build up will be a street party held in the main street of Cowes featuring the Hot Wheels stunt truck, food stalls, car displays, driver autographs and live entertainment.

Corporate hospitality options will go on sale in the coming weeks.

Supercheap Auto TCR Australia, Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS and Turtle Wax Trans Am make up three of seven categories taking part across the weekend.
