MPC held in high esteem by Audi Sport
Audi Sport boss Chris Reinke has heaped praise on Melbourne Performance Centre and its Audi Customer Racing team.
Reinke, who was in Australia for the recent LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour event, cast a keen eye over MPC’s operations, led by co-founders Troy Russell and Lee Burley.
The Audi chief told Speedcafe.com that MPC is the blueprint for customer programs outside of its German headquarters.
“Absolutely [I am proud], not only recently but ever since this partnership [began] it is really our blueprint of partnerships around the world,” Reinke told Speedcafe.com.
“What Troy and Lee pull out at the Melbourne Performance Centre is sensational to us; it has always been very independent but very customer orientated, technical and [at a] supreme level.
“Obviously, through the pandemic situation even with less support from our end continued on a very high standard with many, many successes.”
Last year, the Melbourne-based operation won both the inaugural Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS title with Yasser Shahin and the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series courtesy of Chaz Mostert.
