Schedule revealed for Supercheap Auto TCR Australia’s Queensland return

The Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series enters its concluding three rounds starting with a return to Queensland Raceway on August 5-7 as part of the SpeedSeries.

After crossing the halfway mark of the season at Sydney Motorsport Park, Wall Racing Honda’s Tony D’Alberto holds the ascendency in the title race by 24 points from Peugeot rival Schaeffler GRM driver Dylan O’Keeffe.

A further nine points behind is race winner from Sydney Motorsport Park, HMO Customer Racing’s Josh Buchan. Just a solitary point behind is Jordan Cox driving the Swyftx GRM Peugeot as he returns to the circuit he made his first start with Garry Rogers Motorsport three years ago.

Rounding out the top five is AWC MPC Racing’s Jay Hanson driving the sole latest specification Audi RS3 LMS TCR in the field, sitting 22-points adrift of Cox.

Less than 100 points cover the top 11 drivers in the standings as competitors prepare for the usual three race format.

Action on Friday consists of two 30 minute practice sessions, with the first beginning at 12:45pm and the final being conducted during the evening at 5:50pm.

The two-part knock out qualifying session begins at 2:40pm as the entire field battle for 15 minutes to progress to the battle for Astrontech Pole Position.

The final stage to decide Astrontech Pole Position for the fastest 10 entries begins at 3:05pm for a short, sharp 10 minute session.

This is followed by the opening race of the weekend for Supercheap Auto TCR Australia at 4:15pm.

Two races on Sunday wrap up Round 5, with the inverted top 10 for Race 2 sure to provide an exciting spectacle at Queensland Raceway at 12:10pm as the final race draws the whole weekend to a close beginning at 4:10pm.

Fans are being encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queues at the gates. Parking for spectators will also only be available around the circuit, with the car park unavailable to ticket holders for this event due to the venue set up and garaging for the seven categories.

Once again, all tickets provide access to the paddock and all areas of the circuit, as well as free grid walks prior to TCR races.

Park and watch areas feature around the outside of the circuit encompassing Turns 1, 2, 3 and 6 with all spots providing a complete view of the circuit.

The SpeedSeries at Queensland Raceway will feature seven racing categories and 12 hours of live and ad-break free coverage on Stan Sport across Saturday and Sunday.

The coverage will be broadcast on Stan Sport between 11am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
