Carl Cox visits Michael Clemente before Audi Mountain debut

International DJ Carl Cox has visited privateer Michael Clemente ahead of his Audi debut at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International welcoming the change of marque.

A supporter through his wide ranging Carl Cox Motorsport umbrella also featuring Isle of Man TT, British and New Zealand Superbike riders in addition to Australian team Tickford Racing, the legendary DJ began his association with Clemente earlier this season.

Viewing the Clemente’s striking Audi RS3 LMS TCR he will contest the season finale in at Melbourne Performance Centre earlier this week, he was impressed by the livery as he welcomed the change of marque.

“It’s one thing about talking up the car and the perception of what you think it is, but it’s another thing to come down to actually see it and the work that’s gone into it,” Cox remarked.

“Michael’s already driven the car, he knows he’s got a bit of work to do, but he’s also needs to relearn the car skills on what he was driving before to what he’s driving now. Obviously, things are different from a Honda perspective to the Audi, but this is the challenge and it’s what racing is all about. You challenge yourself to be better at it.

“The more seat time he gets in the Audi, the more comfortable and faster he’ll be. But at the end of the day, I don’t think Michael’s driving is something we talk about, it’s the car. It’s what’s going to happen at the workshop and I think that’s what everyone is interested in seeing what kind of pace and performance we can pull out with the Audi now.”

Clemente gifted Cox the front bumper of his Honda Civic Type R TCR from the Bathurst weekend earlier in the year as a present for his birthday. Cox’s busy touring schedule has not allowed him to visit at Supercheap Auto TCR Australia round yet, but has earmarked an event next year to support Clemente trackside.
