Jordan Cox links up with Schaeffler for 2023 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series
Crowd favourite Jordan Cox has confirmed his return to the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series for 2023.
A regular title contender since joining Garry Rogers Motorsport in mid-2019 in one of its Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCRs, Cox moved last year to a Peugeot 308 TCR where more success followed as he remained in series contention until the final round.
Cox’s statistics include five wins and 15 podiums as he led the way for GRM last year to finish fourth in the final standings, following a third place in 2021. Currently positioned 24th and second Australian in the World TCR Rankings, Cox is targeting a birth in the world final at the end of the season in addition to challenging the world’s best when the TCR World Tour arrives locally for two rounds.
This season Cox returns to GRM and will race the Schaeffler-backed Peugeot 308 TCR previously driven by Dylan O’Keeffe. International OEM and automotive aftermarket parts supplier Schaeffler will continue its main support of a GRM entry for a third season joined by long-time Cox sponsor Pitcher Partners and new partner BlueSky Modular Buildings.
Cox is the third GRM driver to be confirmed for its program, joining previously announced teammates Kody Garland and Aaron Cameron.
Cox will start his pursuit of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia title at AWC Race Tasmania on February 24-26.

“It is fantastic to be going into another year with the GRM team, to have that consistency with the same group of people is a big boost to start the season,” said Cox.

“We had a relatively good season last year, but just when we thought we were making inroads we’d hit a snag of some sort. It was frustrating but we know moving in to 2023 that we have everything ready to put together a very competitive season.
“The World Ranking is an interesting element, it’s a pretty good formula from what I’ve seen, and the World Final will be a sort of carrot being dangled throughout the year for us to chase. The ranking goes hand in hand with performance however, so our only focus will be to ensure we are performing and fighting for the Championship here in Australia.
“The category is getting more competitive, we’re seeing more aggressive setups and drivers pushing harder as we have all figured out how to extract the most out of a pretty unique race car. It’s going to be very interesting when we race alongside the international drivers with the World Tour events.
“We’ve got a group of really skilled people all pushing hard this year so I’m excited to get the year underway, and I see no reason why we shouldn’t be up the pointy end again in 2023.”
