First customer Toyota Corolla GRS TCR delivered

As the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series begins today at Symmons Plains as part of AWC Race Tasmania, the first delivery of a Toyota Corolla GRS TCR has been made.

Customer Paladini Racing received its first Corolla GRS TCR from Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina ahead of its two-car campaign in TCR South America for Fabian Yannantuoni and Juan Angel Rosso.

Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina is set to build 10 Corolla GRS TCRs a year, with the first six set to be completed by March destined for TCR South America and TCR Brazil competition.

The latest homologated model for TCR touring car racing debuted last season in TCR South America where it achieved a maiden pole position and victory at Buenos Aires driven by Jorge Barrio for Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina.

The Corolla GRS TCRs are produced between Toyota Gazoo Racing Argentina’s workshop in Cordoba and a new state-of-the-art facility in Zarate where final fitment is undertaken.

WSC is set to provide the model full homologation later this season in expectation of the Toyota joining other worldwide TCR classes in the future.
