Lynk & Co TCR arrives in Oz ahead of Australian race debut
The first Lynk & Co 03 TCR has arrived in Australia after completing its voyage from Sweden to the Ashley Seward Motorsport workshop in Dandenong, Victoria.
The car is an ex-Cyan Racing chassis, previously raced in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, and has received an extensive rebuild ahead of its Australian racing debut at Phillip Island next month.
The 03 TCR will be raced in the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series by recent category debutant Tom Oliphant. The British Touring Car Championship race winner claimed two top five finishes in the first round at Symmons Plains and sits fifth in the standings.
The car will be prepared at the ASM workshop ahead of a test day at Phillip Island later this month.
The car will test in its current plain look before receiving an updated livery with major backing from Autoglym.
Established in 2016, Lynk & Co has quickly grown as an innovative and disruptive brand in the global automotive industry. The brand plans to enter the Australian car industry in coming years.
Lynk & Co has enjoyed international success in TCR, winning back-to-back WTCR drivers’ titles with French driver Yann Ehrlacher in 2020 and 2021, and also achieving a hat-trick of Teams’ Championships from 2019-2021.
Round 2 of Supercheap Auto TCR Australia takes place at Phillip Island from May 12-14.
