Bargwanna documentary launches as field heads to Spa for Rounds 3 & 4

A BEHIND-THE-SCENES documentary detailing Ben Bargwanna’s first Kumho TCR World Tour round in Portugal has launched on Stan Sport.

The 30-minute feature showcases the opening round of the new global TCR series, with Bargwanna the sole Aussie representative amidst a field of the world’s best Touring Car competitors.

The production gives an insight into the competition at Portimao and how Bargwanna adapted to both the new circuit, and the Team Clariet Sport / Burson Auto Parts Peugeot 308 TCR.

The launch of the documentary comes as the TCR World Tour field prepares for the third and fourth rounds on the tour to be held this weekend at the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.

Bargwanna sits 15th in the World Tour standings however finished the Portimao weekend as the top rookie driver thanks to his strong 12th-placed finish in the second race.

The TCR World Tour will race twice this weekend, with Hyundai drivers sitting first and second in the championship, led by Hungarian ace Norbert Michelisz.

Audi pilots Fred Vervisch and Rob Huff – a former World Touring Car Champion – sit third and fourth, respectively, with Lynk & Co’s Thed Bjork in fifth.

The Spa rounds will again be held in conjunction with the TCR European Series, with 23-cars confirmed for the event this weekend.

Action starts with practice on Friday with one race each on Saturday and Sunday.

Both races will be broadcast live, ad-break free and on demand in Australia by Stan Sport.
