D’Alberto Sets Record Friday Pace in Wall Racing One-Two
Tony D’Alberto has led Wall Racing to a one-two in practice two for round three of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.
The pace was as rapid as expected, on the resurfaced track, with D’Alberto posting a 1:35.9870s to put three tenths of a second on his closest rival Brad Harris. The leading TCR Challenge driver was fastest for much of the session, after leading from the opening stages.
Josh Buchan was third fastest for HMO Customer Racing, ahead of Tufflift Racing’s Zac Soutar.
Clay Richards was fifth for Carl Cox Motorsport, and escaped a moment at turn one which saw the third-generation driver take a trip through the gravel.
The top seven cars were separated by just eight tenths of a second, with Dylan O’Keeffe, Ryan Casha and Ben Bargwanna making up that group.
The International drivers of Tom Oliphant and Glenn Nirwan completed the top 10, with Will Harris in 11th. There were mechanical problems for the GRM pair of Jordan Cox and Aaron Cameron, who completed just five and three laps respectively.
The field will fight for the Astrontech Pole Award at 11:25am on Saturday. Qualifying will be live and free on 7plus.
