West Circuit Confirmed for Tailem Bend Return
The schedule for the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series’ third visit to the newly renamed Shell V-Power Motorsport Park has been revealed, along with confirmation that the Shannons SpeedSeries event will utilise the West Circuit layout.

TCR Australia raced at the South Australian circuit twice in the category’s inaugural season in 2019. On both of those occasions the field raced on the 4.950km International Circuit, with the six extra corners largely made up of high-speed turns.
The West Circuit is set to provide non-stop action with the shorter layout expected to provide plenty of overtaking opportunities for drivers, further promoting the brand of flat out racing the field has taken to new levels in recent rounds.
Friday’s dual practice sessions will return to the usual 30 minute format, before qualifying on Saturday at 9:30am local time sees the fight for the Astrontech Pole Award. Race 1 takes place at 2:45pm on Saturday afternoon, with Race 2 and 3 at 11:20am and 3:50pm respectively on Sunday.
Tony D’Alberto, Aaron Cameron, Dylan O’Keeffe and Jordan Cox were all on the grid for both rounds at The Bend in 2019, along with Iain McDougall who contested the second event.
O’Keeffe took Pole Position on the most recent visit to the circuit, while Cameron took a race victory that same weekend.
“I love going to The Bend, it’s one of my favourite circuits and we don’t get to race there as often as I’d like,” said Cameron.
“The West Circuit looks like fun, it’s going to create a bit of difference and something new for us to learn which we don’t get very often. I think it’ll promote some great racing, we often lose out on the high-speed corners through the aero wash on the International layout, whereas the West circuit is full of corners where we’re going to be able to follow really closely.
“The four of us having raced there before might be a little advantage initially, but so much has changed and we’re on a different tyre now with the Kumho. For me it’s just looking to continue our upward trend this year, we’ve had good speed but haven’t had the luck to go with it,” concluded Cameron.
Round four of the 2024 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series takes place from May 31-June 2 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries.
