O’Keeffe on Top in Soggy Sydney Session
Garry Rogers Motorsport’s new Australian-built Peugeot TCR cars have made their race weekend debut in a damp opening practice at ColourSpec Race Sydney.
A steady drizzle greeted the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series field for Friday morning’s opening practice session at Sydney Motorsport Park, with only seven cars electing to head out on track.
Two of them were the new P51-model GRM Peugeots, entrusted this weekend to Jordan Cox and Ben Bargwanna, who finished the opening hitout fourth and fifth.
Dylan O’Keeffe topped the order in the Lynk & Co, fractionally ahead of Aaron Cameron and Ryan Casha, both in the proven older-model Peugeots.
Glenn Nirwan and Will Harris were the only other cars to head out, the latter not setting a representative time.
Neither of the HMO Customer Racing Hyundais ventured out, nor did points leader Zac Soutar or the Wall Racing Hondas of Tony D’Alberto or Brad Harris.
The Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series has a further 30-minute practice session on Friday afternoon ahead of qualifying and three races across the weekend.
