Kumho FIA TCR World Tour formats confirmed for 2025

Twenty rounds across eight events will make up the 2025 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, with three different formats being approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.

The Australian round of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour will use Format 3 alongside events in Mexico, Spain and Korea.

Shell V-Power Motorsport Park will host two 30-minute practice sessions, a half hour qualifying format split between a Q1 (20-minutes) and Q2 (10-minutes), while three races will be of the same length plus one lap equalling two hours of track time during the weekend.

Races 1 and 2 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park will be held on Saturday, while the finale will be Sunday.

The grid for Race 2 will be determined by final qualifying results, with the top 10 inverted, while total points will decide the grid for the final event.

The final round of TCR Australia and the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour in Macau will host its own unique format. This begins with two 30-minute practice sessions, a 45-minute qualifying format split between Q1 (30-minutes) and Q2 (15-minutes). This is followed by two 60km races to be held across Saturday and Sunday.

Mexico will kick off the 2025 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on May 2-3.

Australia will host the fifth round of the series at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park on September 12-14, while the season finale at Macau is scheduled for November 13-16.
