Brad Harris confirms TCR World Tour entry for The Bend
TCR Australia Series race winner Brad Harris has confirmed his place in the field for the upcoming Kumho FIA TCR World Tour round at Tailem Bend.
Harris returns in the Exclusive Switchboards Honda Civic Type R FL5 he has raced since the beginning of 2024, and which was previously driven in the two Australian rounds of the TCR World Tour in 2023 by Nestor Girolami.
Notably, after two seasons in TCR competition with Wall Racing, Harris’ entry will be run at The Bend by his family’s own operation, Harris Motorsports, with technical support from TCR World Tour team GOAT Racing and Honda’s global customer racing agent, JAS Motorsport.
For Brad, son of long-time NSW Sports Sedan competitor Bill Harris, competing as a self-run operation is an evolution from the family’s previous racing exploits in categories such as Improved Production and one-make Mazda RX8 competition.
Harris has also enlisted former Supercars driver and now driver training expert, Dean Canto, as a driver coach for the event.
Since joining TCR in 2023 from state-level competition, Harris has demonstrated impressive speed in the high-level touring car category, winning three races to date and finishing third in the 2024 series.
Brad’s twin brother, Will, who has also raced in TCR since 2023 will be missing the event due to an impending childbirth.
