Cox and Schaeffler to Join TCR World Tour Grid at The Bend

TEAM MEDIA RELEASE

Jordan Cox, Schaeffler and Garry Rogers Motorsport will continue their longstanding partnership with a return to the TCR Australia grid alongside the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend.

Cox has been one of the stars of TCR action in Australia since the category’s inception in 2019, sitting second on the all-time stats list for both starts and race wins – of which he has nine.

The partnership between Cox and Schaeffler, which started in 2023, moved to the Trico Trans Am series for the 2025 season. After four rounds Cox is fifth in the drivers’ standings, with two podium finishes to his name.

At The Bend, Cox will drive the GRM Peugeot 308 P51, the latest generation in the TCR offering from Peugeot and a project that was designed and built in-house by GRM as the official supplier of the P51.

The P51 made its debut at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2024, and was driven to victory in just it’s second ever race by Cox. That win was backed up at the season finale in Bathurst once again by Cox in the Schaeffler entry.

Competing at The Bend will offer GRM the opportunity to showcase their cars on a global scale and against the best touring car drivers and teams in the world, with the first TCR Australia event of 2025 also playing host to the fifth round of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour.

Cox will hit the track from September 12-14 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, doing double duty in Schaeffler entries, with the event also serving as the fifth round of the Trans Am Series.

“I’m absolutely excited, I haven’t been able to race TCR this year, but I still love it and have definitely missed it.

“The category brings such a tough racing style, and while Trans Am is similar in that way, they are two very different categories.

“Aerodynamically you can lean on that area of the car a lot more in the TCR and the braking points are a bit deeper so there’s just a lot of mental notes to be aware of jumping between the two as I will at The Bend.

“I’m up for the challenge of double duties, I did it once last year, I certainly won’t be short of racing laps and it will be awesome to represent Schaeffler and my personal partners Viola Private Wealth across two different categories in the one weekend.

“We’ll be on the world stage for TCR which is super cool but I’m really not concerned about the spotlight, it’s just about focusing on doing the best job possible for the team in what’s going to be a super competitive field filled with the world’s best.”
