New Category Manager, New Race Formats and Two-Driver Option Signal Bold Changes for TCR Australia

The Bend Motorsport Park today announced significant changes to TCR Australia, headlined by the appointment of Charlotte White as Category Manager and the introduction of new race formats designed to reinvigorate the national touring car series from 2026.

White joins The Bend with extensive international and operational experience, having previously been involved with TCR UK through her role as Event Operations Manager with the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC). Her appointment forms part of a broader strategy by The Bend to strengthen its motorsport operations team and reimagine TCR Australia with what the venue describes as “the differentiators TCR needs to thrive again.”

In addition to her new role as TCR Category Manager, White will also serve as Motorsport Operations 2IC, further reinforcing The Bend’s long-term commitment to both TCR Australia and the newly launched Summit Championship Series.

White holds a BSc (Hons) in Motorsport Management from UWTSD Swansea and brings a diverse professional background, including roles with the Motorsport Industry Association, Rockingham Motor Speedway, and Composites UK. Her blend of category-specific experience, operational expertise and international perspective is expected to play a key role in shaping the next chapter of TCR Australia.

“I’m excited to take on the role of Category Manager for TCR Australia at such an important point in the series history. TCR Australia offers a professional, competitive and globally recognised platform for the next generation of touring car drivers.

The wider package of Summit Championship Series supporting TCR Australia, offers an incredible platform to support and develop the next generation of drivers, with clear and exciting progression opportunities globally through the wider TCR network.

I’m looking forward to working closely with the teams and competitors to help grow the category and continue building a strong future for TCR in Australia.”

The category will also undergo a series of sporting changes aimed at increasing flexibility, accessibility and on-track action. Separate championship honours will be awarded for Generation 1 and Generation 2 TCR cars with each race weekend now featuring one rapid-fire qualifying session and two short sprint races per-day

A brand-new Pro-Am Cup will form part of the 2026 TCR Australia Series, allowing competitors the option to car share a single TCR car between two-drivers, with each driver contesting one heat race each per day and overall round results shared between the two drivers. The Pro-Am Cup is designed to lower barriers to entry, attracting a broader range of drivers while maintaining the competitive integrity of the TCR platform.

Reducing the barriers for competitors through low-cost entry and more flexible race formats, combined with strengthened leadership and operations, position TCR Australia for renewed growth and relevance within the Australian motorsport landscape.
