GRM takes delivery of new Alfa Romeo

Garry Rogers Motorsport has welcomed a brand-new Alfa Romeo into its fold as the team continues to expand its fleet of TCR vehicles.

The famous Melbourne-based squad is expanding on its newly-formed GRM Customer Racing arm of its business, with the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce joining the existing Alfa that Jordan Cox raced this year, as well as the Peugeot 308 that competed at the final round at The Bend Motorsport Park.

The new Giulietta Veloce, built by Romeo Ferraris in Italy, is the same specification as the team’s other Alfa Romeo, and sister vehicles to the three Alfas run by Ashley Seward Motorsport.

GRM is yet to confirm the drivers for either Alfas, although team owner Barry Rogers says that he is close to firming up those details.

“We were pleased with the progress that Jordan Cox showed throughout his time with us and we are keen to see him stay as part of our GRM family,” said Rogers.

“We got a real kick out of seeing this young guy with, basically, no major motorsport experience, challenge some of the best drivers in the country.

“We’re speaking to a number of drivers about racing the new car. We hope to have that all locked away in the next month or so.”

The news of more TCR cars joining GRM Customer Racing program comes on the back of Renault Australia’s commitment to GRM’s Renault Meganes, taking a major sponsorship role with Moffat’s #34 entry for 2020.
