Astrontech to back Chelsea Angelo in new VW TCR ride

Astrontech will be the primary backer of Chelsea Angelo’s TCR Asia Pacific Cup campaign at the Albert Park street circuit next weekend.

Angelo will drive the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR that Aaron Cameron raced to third place in the inaugural carsales TCR Australia Series last year.

The fast Golf GTI will be prepared by Melbourne Performance Centre.

It will be Angelo’s fifth event in the category, having competed in four 2019 rounds in the Kelly Racing-prepared Holden Astras.

Astrontech has been a foundation supporter of TCR Australia which continues into 2020.

The Australian-based IT solutions and service provider was the title sponsor of the pole position award and will continue to give away $1000 for the pole-sitter for each of the seven series rounds this year.

Astrontech is a highly successful IT business solutions provider offering systems integration and IT service in support of mission critical applications and infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as corporate and government organisations.

The livery of Angelo’s Astrontech VW will be revealed next week in the lead up to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix at the famous Albert Park street track.

“I really enjoyed my time in the category last year and learnt so much along the journey.

“The cars are really fun to drive and with some of the progress that we made towards the end of last season, I believe that we can transfer that into some results at the Grand Prix.

“I can’t thank Astrontech enough for showing their support to get me on the grid for Albert Park. I can’t wait for the Grand Prix week to start!”
