Will Brown commits to carsales ARG eSport Cup
Will Brown has gone over and above to ensure he has an entry in the opening round of the carsales ARG eSport Cup.
The inaugural TCR Australia Series champion was set to miss the online series, but was rescued by fans and friends who have sourced the young gun the hardware and software to be on the grid.
The carsales ARG eSport Cup is open to drivers from the Australian Racing Group’s suite of categories, including TCR Australia, S5000, Touring Car Masters, Trans Am and V8 Touring Cars.
The broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube, starting this Thursday.
Brown will be one of three entries for the HMO Customer Racing team, joined by regular team-mate Nathan Morcom and the team’s media and partnership manager Sam Stratten.
Brown says that he has not sent a lot of time on simulators, but is willing and ready to give it a shot.
“I’m going to be a novice, so it is very raw for me, but I’m keen to try my best,” said Brown.
“I’m waiting for some parts to come via post. I had some minor dramas with my set-up, but IO’ve had people from all over help me out. I’m getting it sorted and I’ll be ready to go.
“I haven’t done a lot with iRacing, but this is the thing that we need to do while we can’t race. It will be different, we’re probably going to suck, but it should be fun!
“Hopefully the damage is off so I can damage a few people, but we’ll wait and see.”
Other TCR Australia drivers already committed to the online series include Chelsea Angelo, Jordan Cox, Jay Hanson, Michael Clemente, Jason Bargwanna, John Martin, Dylan O’Keeffe, James Moffat, Tim Brook, Liam McAdam, Declan Fraser and more.
The opening round of the carsales ARG eSport Cup will be held at the famous Mount Panorama circuit, starting this Thursday night at 8pm AEDT.
