Mostert completes exceptional Bathurst clean sweep
Chaz Mostert claimed an outstanding clean sweep of race victories in the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.
Mostert steered the Bostik Audi RS3 to the top step of the podium with a sensational overtake on Aaron Cameron in the closing stages of Race 3.

The scheduled 10-lap encounter was truncated by two safety car periods, which funneled all the action into the end of the race, as Cameron narrowly held on ahead Jordan Cox to complete the podium.
For the third time this weekend, Cameron nailed the start in his Peugeot 308 and moved ahead of Mostert at Turn 1 as there was a skirmish further back in the field involving the Audi RS3 of Luke King.
Lee Holdsworth was slow as the pack climbed the Mountain before he ground to a halt at McPhillamy Park with smoke coming from under the bonnet of his Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
Fire marshals were called to the scene as Holdsworth jumped from the car and race control deployed the safety car, with the Alfa Romeo needing recovery.
Racing momentarily resumed on Lap 5 as Cameron tipped it into the first corner with Mostert and Cox filling his rear-view mirror.
However, the safety car was called once again with Tony D’Alberto in the gravel at Hell Corner after contact with another Honda Civic Type R.
The green flag waved for a second time on Lap 7, with Cameron getting a perfect restart and leading away, however, that didn’t last long.
At the end of the lap, Mostert had a good exit out of the final corner and hauled alongside the Peugeot on the main straight, with Cameron pushing him to the pit wall.
Mostert made the move stick down the inside at Turn 1 to capture the lead, while Cox lured in Cameron on the last lap.
Ben Bargwanna had a wild moment at The Chase, skating sideways across the gravel and leaping across the circuit, somehow missing everyone else, before safely rejoining in his Peugeot.
At the chequered flag, Mostert won by 1.4s, while Cameron managed to hold onto second position by mere tenths ahead of the Alfa Romeo of Cox, who had a massive crack at the final corner.
Garth Tander finished fourth in his Audi RS3, while John Martin completed the top five at the wheel of his Wall Racing Honda Civic Type R.
Mostert’s success makes him only the second driver ever to take a clean sweep in TCR competition, with the Queenslander leading the standings by 63-points over Cameron.
