Strong finish to maiden campaign expected for Tilton Racing
Tilton Racing hopes to turnaround a frustrating Supercheap Auto TCR Australia season so far after discovering and rectifying a suspension fault in its privateer Hyundai i30 N TCR.
Joining Supercheap Auto TCR Australia is the latest step by Tilton Racing after previously competing in Time Attack and Radical Australia Cup.

Led by team owner Kosta Pohorukov and driver Brad Shiels, the team finished inside the top 10 on debut at Symmons Plains, but engine problems have curtailed the Tilton Racing’s season in addition to the shock leak discovered at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Unable to be traced through data, fluid was leaking from a shock onto the front tyre in high G-force corners inducing wheelspin.
Since the last round, new Ohlins shocks have been installed on each corner in preparation for the final races of the season where Pohorukov hopes to demonstrate the package’s true potential.
“We had a bad shock we didn’t even know,” Pohorukov explained.
“It was leaking oil onto the tyre only on the high G-force corners and we couldn’t find it. We’ve since replaced it, so all our numbers have gone back to zero.
“We have test days planned and fingers crossed we can get to the pointy end.”
Early signs for the team were positive after testing throughout 2020 at SMP and it’s this form Tilton Racing hopes to recapture.
“During testing we were right on the pace of the frontrunners, it was just all of a sudden, we went backwards,” Pohorukov explained.
“We’ve just got to stick at it and get as much data as we can so we can tune up the car to make it as fast as possible.
“Finger crossed we can have a good car and start getting podiums. We know it’s going to take a while to win as a privateer team.
“We know it’s a fast car, that’s the problem.”
