Toyota 86 Champion Joins Cameron for Valvoline TCR Effort
Ryan Casha will make the move to Supercheap Auto TCR Australia in 2024, joining Aaron Cameron in Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Valvoline TCR entries.
Casha was a dominant figure in the 2023 Toyota 86 Series, his second full season in the category, taking 10 podiums and four wins to claim the series victory. The 19-year-old also has a runner up finish under his belt in the A2 class of the Bathurst 6 Hour. Casha has spent the week integrating with his new team at the GRM Combine, where he sampled Cameron’s Peugeot 308 ahead of round one in February.
Cameron returns for a third TCR season with GRM, off the back of a successful 2023. A dual tilt at both the S5000 and TCR categories netted Cameron the Gold Star victory and a second Tasman Series win.
The 23-year-old has been a prominent figure in TCR Australia since its inception in 2019, and since joining GRM in 2021 has raced to 19 podiums and six race wins. Cameron finished the 2023 season fourth in the points, after entering the final round in title contention.
It marks the third successive season of twin Valvoline entries in TCR Australia, with the oil brand continuing in their extensive partnership with the team.
Casha and Cameron are the first two drivers confirmed from GRM for the 2024 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia season, joining James Moffat and Edan Thornburrow from the team’s Trans Am stable.
Round one takes place from February 9-11 at Sandown Raceway as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries. All the action will be live and free on the Seven Network.

Ryan Casha, #79 Peugeot 308 TCR
“I’m stoked to be joining the GRM family alongside a well-established teammate in Aaron Cameron,” said Casha.
“I have an expansive wealth of knowledge at my disposal in Aaron and the team, which I’m sure will prove highly beneficial as we progress throughout the season. These cars are a significant contrast to the Toyota 86 from last year, however after spending a couple of days with the team I’m feeling comfortable and super confident that we will be competitive this year.
“Personally, I have high expectations moving into this year, but strong and consistent finishes are my main goal. Everyone at GRM has been extremely welcoming and I’m excited to get under way in a couple of weeks,” concluded Casha.
Aaron Cameron, #18 Peugeot 308 TCR
“It’s great to be back with GRM and Valvoline for another season, we were right in the fight for the championship until the last race of the season in 2023,” said Cameron.
“We have a very good understanding of the current car with the team and I will be aiming high for the 2024 series in what looks like a very competitive field. It’s great to have a new teammate in Ryan come into the Valvoline fold, he has shown some great speed in his run at the GRM combine and will provide some valuable data for the team. I look forward to having the two team Valvoline cars on the podium.
The new Peugeot will be coming online during the season and I’m really looking forward to being able to compete with a new generation TCR car,” concluded Cameron.
