Iain McDougall and Challenge Motorsport Target Full Season Entry in 2026 TCR Australia Championship
Iain McDougall and his team, Challenge Motorsport, have expressed intent to contest the entire 2026 TCR Australia Championship season.
McDougall’s racing career spans more than two decades, having commenced his motorsport journey in 2003 through national-level go kart competition. He progressed to car racing in 2014, debuting in the MINI Challenge series, before making his first appearance in TCR competition in 2019 and formally joining the category in 2022.
Alongside his experience in TCR, McDougall has achieved significant success in Australian circuit racing. He is a two-time Victorian 2 Litre Sports Sedan Champion, winning the title outright in 2019 and 2021, and claimed victory at the Winton 300 endurance event in 2025. To date, McDougall has contested 47 of the 100 TCR Australia races held, giving him one of the more substantial experience bases within the current championship field.
For the 2026 season, McDougall and Challenge Motorsport will campaign their Audi RS3 LMS TCR, a proven and highly competitive platform within the global TCR framework. Preparations are underway to ensure the team is fully equipped to meet the technical, operational, and sporting demands of a complete championship campaign.
Further announcements regarding the 2026 programme will be made as preparations progress.
